As the Varien blog continues it’s short somewhat long hiatus, a Magento update post is in order. Here’s whats happening in the Magento world:
- Magento 1.1.x is now available for download. For this major release we focused on expanding Magento’s product configuration options, streamlining integration between strategic Magento modules and external applications (API), increasing the flexibility of the core tax module to allow for Canadian and EU tax rules and boosting the overall performance of the Magento Platform.
- Magento wins ‘Best New Open Source Project’ at the 2008 SourceForge.net Community Choice Awards!
- Magento also wins ‘Best of Open Source Enterprise Applications’ at InfoWorld’s BOSSIE awards.
- Magento Developer Challenge #1 is announced, with the goal of integrating Magento and Google Spreadsheet.
- Varien’s Roy Rubin and Yoav Kutner answer grueling questions by the Magento community via video.
