Google International Store Uses osCommerce … and is FULL of bugs
Google’s International store uses osCommerce, but the best part is that the store is full of bugs and has no customization save from the Google logo in the upper left of the header.
You can see a screencast here where we were able to checkout without any products in the cart and an order sub-total of $0.
It gets funnier. Once you get to the checkout you can’t even pay using Google Checkout! Look at how many countries they support and you’re telling me the Google store doesn’t support checkout?
Now Google is obviously busy with all of their web properties, but you think they would want all of their customer facing sites to appear with the same quality as the rest of their sites.
Take a look at the screencast and let us know what you think of the Google store in the comments.

Hi,
We had been sent your blog and the issue you discovered with the site. It was a little more of an involved issue to produce the bug than you suggest on your screencast, there is a very specific sequence of events that had to take place before you started recording, but I was able to see what was going on and get it fixed.
If you find anything else let me know.
With regard to Google Checkout I can say that it is in development however Google Checkout merchant accounts outside the USA are brand new and only on testing with Google Staff at this point.
Thanks
Andrew

Dear Varien,
Google’e US store uses .asp and Europe uses .php osCommerce. One thing that I found is that php osCommerce stores are generally slow compared to real enterprise level systems once they have a bit of traffic.
