New Site Release: Zend Framework Site Design
Zend launched a new Varien designed and coded Framework site today, you can check out the new design at zendframework.com. The redesign came about as Zend was releasing the biggest update to its Framework since the 1.0 version, and wanted the site to reflect the big update. Varien redesigned the site to match the occasion, while still keeping the navigation and layout of the site as people were used to. Varien also produced the HTML coding for the redesign.
This follows other work Varien has done for Zend, including the redesign of the main site, Zend.com, and more.

The new site is pretty nice so congrats on that. But I can’t help but think that the Zend Framework itself is way overengineered. I suspect that the framework complexity will end up being a major drag on Magento. The documentation table of contents says it all: 43 chapters??!!

I thik they did an extremely nice job with the Framework. 43 Chapters ? And ? It’s a lot better to be informed. Overengineered? Don’t use the componenent. For instance, I think the autoloading Zend does it horrible. Ugh. So… I use my own.
Apparently, you’ve never worked with Java, and aren’t very familiar with a true packaging system.
