Simple=Sales - One Page Checkout
A staggering 53 percent of customers will abandon their shopping carts before buying, according to Forresster Research. We’ve documented some solutions to chip away at the problem, but none of them have the impact of implementing a one-page checkout process.
Last year, TJMaxx.com consolidated its multiple page process into one page and saw a 50 percent rise in order completions. At Varien we don’t ignore results like that and have implemented one-page checkouts for customers such as BentGear, Microtek and BargainBlade. We use AJAX to create the page, which seamlessly integrates with our eCommerce Platform.

As you can see from Microtek’s checkout page, the customer enters their billing and shipping information, provides their credit card number and selects the shipping method all at once. As the customer enters their shipping address the appropriate shipping rates are loaded, giving the final price without having to load a new page. By having the customer enter all their information on one page you enable them to complete the process faster, resulting in more sales. The numbers don’t lie.
