With over 30,000 SKU's and $1 Billion in sales, La Caracao needed a very unique and very powerful e-commerce solution. Aside from their large number of products this system would need to be highly customized including support for proprietary credit cards, full integration with their accounting, inventory, catalogue, and fulfillment systems, and real time product and inventory data through EDI with leading vendors.
Varien answered the challenge on each and every count, building one of our most feature-rich solutions to date. The backend administration tool uses an AJAX folder structure reminiscent of operating systems to simplify the learning curve. It is role and permission based and keeps detailed logs of all activity. In addition, the entire site is bilingual and the back-end seamlessly supports both English and Spanish product titles, descriptions, etc. Finally, custom reporting tools were built to allow La Curacao to quickly and intelligently respond to their customer base.
